Plage de la Salis is the gateway beach to Cap d'Antibes, a long crescent of sand stretching from the old ramparts of Antibes southward toward the peninsula. It offers one of the most spectacular panoramas on the coast: to the north, the medieval towers of Antibes backed by the snow-capped Alps; to the south, the pine-covered slopes of Cap d'Antibes rising from the sea.
The beach is predominantly public and free, with a mix of sand and fine gravel. It faces east, catching the morning sun and offering calm, sheltered water thanks to the protection of the Cap. A sailing school operates from the southern end, and the waterfront promenade is lined with restaurants and cafes.
La Salis is also the starting point for the Chemin du Calvaire, the atmospheric uphill path through the forest to the Garoupe lighthouse and chapel. This makes it an ideal base for combining a morning walk to the lighthouse with an afternoon beach session.
