Plage de la Garoupe Publique

Chemin de la Garoupe, 06160 Antibes

The public section of Plage de la Garoupe offers the same stunning setting as the private beach clubs — golden sand, turquoise water, and views toward Antibes and the Alps — without any cost. This free-access section occupies the northern portion of the Garoupe bay and provides an egalitarian counterpart to the exclusive clubs that line the southern section.

Facilities are basic but functional: outdoor showers, a lifeguard station during summer months, and public toilets. There are no lounger rentals on the public section itself, so bring your own beach towel or mat. The shallow, calm water is excellent for swimming and the sandy bottom slopes gently, making it safe for children.

The beach gets crowded during July and August, particularly on weekends. The best strategy is to arrive early morning, before the private beach clubs have even opened their parasols, and enjoy the serene beauty of the Garoupe at its quietest.
