The Plateau de la Garoupe is the highest accessible point on Cap d'Antibes, a pine-covered hilltop at 103 meters above sea level offering an unobstructed 360-degree panorama. On clear days it extends from the Esterel mountains near Cannes to the hills of Italy beyond Monaco.
The plateau can be reached on foot via several routes: the Chemin du Calvaire from Plage de la Salis, a shaded path through the Bois de la Garoupe from the beach, or by car along the Route du Phare. The Chemin du Calvaire is the most atmospheric approach, winding uphill through forest past Stations of the Cross markers. The walk takes about 20 minutes from La Salis beach.
Beyond the views, the plateau is a place of quiet contemplation. Benches are placed at strategic viewpoints, the air smells of warm pine resin, and the only sounds are birdsong and the distant hum of the sea.
