The Phare de la Garoupe is the lighthouse that crowns Cap d'Antibes, standing at the summit of the Garoupe plateau at an altitude of 103 meters above sea level. Its beam has guided sailors into the Baie des Anges since the 19th century, and its silhouette against the sky is one of the most recognizable images of the Cap.
From the plateau around the lighthouse, the panorama is staggering: Nice and the Baie des Anges stretch to the east, Juan-les-Pins and the Golfe-Juan curve to the west, and the Iles de Lerins float on the horizon toward Cannes. On clear days, visibility extends to the Italian border.
The lighthouse tower itself rises approximately 29 meters. While the interior is not always open to the public, the surrounding area is freely accessible and offers one of the finest viewpoints on the entire Cote d'Azur.
